LEUCINE SPORTS PERFORMANCE

L-Leucine is a branched amino acid (branched-chain) that is part of proteins, and which in English is called BCAA, Branched Chain Amino Acid.

Whey protein (whey protein), is the richest source in this amino acid. However this amino acid is currently produced by biotechnological processes, and so in a totally isolated, more often than not used in final products in association with other two branched-chain amino acids, the valine and isoleucine, These two also produced through biotechnology.

In addition to being instrumental in structure formation of proteins, Leucine is also a stimulant of the protein anabolism, (acting in isolation) to the extent that in conjunction with insulin, activates the mTOR pathway, responsible for the raise and the "speed" of protein synthesis. Leucine must be used in association with valine and isoleucine in a ratio of 2:1:1, the total amount of 10 grams after practice, usually in combination with isolated whey protein.
